Heat & Inequality

  • July 13, 2022

See the story here.

“Code Red: Baltimore’s Climate Divide” is an investigative project reporting on the relationship between climate change and poverty, examining the price that residents of “urban heat islands” pay, whether in chronic illnesses, higher crime rates or poverty. The project was a collaboration between Merrill College of Journalism and NPR. In addition to the website, stories aired on NPR, were distributed by the AP and picked up by The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun and other national news organizations.

I designed and built the maps and scrollytelling graphics in the Heat & Inequality story seen here.
